About Playa Sant Tomns

The Vibe

This is a settled resort beach with a calm, orderly feel rather than a party destination. Families, couples and regular visitors use the sand, promenade and nearby services throughout the summer, and the beach can become busy without feeling as compressed as a tiny cala. The shore is easy to understand on arrival: the sea lies directly below the pedestrian waterfront, with facilities and accommodation close behind.

Sant Tomas works well for people who value convenience but still want a recognisable Menorcan setting. The coastline is low, the buildings are mostly held behind the promenade, and views extend across a broad southern horizon. Evening brings walkers to the seafront, while daytime activity remains centred on the sand and water.

The Setting

About Sant Tomas

Sant Tomas is an urbanised sandy beach on Menorca's south coast and the principal seaside resort of Es Migjorn Gran. Its long promenade, accommodation and restaurants make it practical for a full beach day, while the open bay retains clear links to the island's coastal landscape.

The Local Anchor

The Cami de Cavalls is the strongest local connection. Following it west leads past Sant Adeodato towards Binigaus, where the developed resort edge gives way to a more natural beach backed by the Binigaus ravine.

Inland, Es Migjorn Gran is the municipal centre. The small town provides the everyday local context behind the holiday development and links the coast with Menorca's rural interior, dry-stone walls and agricultural land.

The Landscape

Official Menorca tourism information gives Sant Tomas a length of about 390 metres and an average width of 25 metres. The beach runs between the Binicodrell and Atalitx headlands, with pale sand and a generally open aspect to the south.

A promenade parallels the shore and separates the beach from the resort. Low rocky sections interrupt the wider sandy frontage, while nearby pine and scrub add green to a landscape otherwise dominated by sand, limestone and open sea. The bay is attractive but exposed enough for southerly weather to alter conditions noticeably.
