About Playa Paseo Carrinn

The Vibe

Carrion feels relaxed, local and less concentrated than the northern resort sections. Families use the gentle water, residents walk along the promenade and small boats or paddlecraft appear offshore. Summer brings regular activity, while mornings and quieter months reveal a more residential pace.

The lagoon normally has limited wave action, although wind can quickly roughen the surface. Seasonal services and recognised access support ordinary bathing. Visitors should follow current local information about water conditions and remain clear of moorings, launch points and marked navigation areas.

The Setting

About Playa Paseo Carrion

Playa Paseo Carrion forms the southern end of the principal Los Alcazares waterfront near the edge of the older town. Its fine sand, shallow Mar Menor water and continuous promenade make it a practical neighbourhood beach connecting the centre with quieter southern shoreline.

The Local Anchor

The southern Los Alcazares townscape provides the immediate reference, with local streets, cafes and residential buildings close behind the promenade. The connected waterfront leads north through La Concha, Manzanares and El Espejo towards Los Narejos.

The town's fishing and traditional bathing history remains evident through small boats, piers and Mar Menor food culture. Rice dishes, fish and seafood feature strongly in nearby restaurants.

The Landscape

Fine golden sand follows a low shoreline beneath palms, promenade paving, houses and modest apartment buildings. The Mar Menor opens broadly to the east, with La Manga forming a distant line across the lagoon.

Southward, the urban frontage begins to loosen towards quieter coastal areas. Northward, the central promenade continues without interruption. Carrion is defined by its edge position: neighbourhood beach, shallow water and long walking route marking the transition from central Los Alcazares to its less developed southern shore. The southern position also gives Carrion a quieter evening atmosphere than the busier entrances around Los Narejos. Walkers can continue along the connected waterfront without returning to inland roads, while the open lagoon maintains broad views throughout the route. The section remains practical for a short family visit.
