About Playa Marina de la Torre

The Vibe

The atmosphere is calm and residential. Apartments and hotels sit behind the shore, but the beach is less nightlife-focused than central Mojacar Playa. Families, walkers and guests from nearby accommodation make up much of the daytime crowd, while the long frontage allows quieter spaces away from the busiest access points.

Municipal seasonal services make it suitable for a conventional beach day, and the coastal road provides bus and vehicle connections. Wind and exposure mean the beach lacks the permanently sheltered feel of a small cove. Even so, the wide horizon and open sand create a relaxed setting for spending several hours by the water.

The Setting

About Playa Marina de la Torre

Playa Marina de la Torre forms the northern gateway to Mojacar's developed coastline, close to the boundary with Garrucha and beside the Marina de la Torre residential and golf area. It is a long urban beach with grey sand, easy access and broad views towards Mojacar Pueblo and the dry hills behind the coast.

The Local Anchor

The Marina de la Torre area is closely associated with the golf course that occupies the coastal slopes behind the beach. Its green fairways form an unusual contrast with Almeria's dry terrain and the grey sand below. The beach is also near Garrucha, making the fishing port and its seafood restaurants an easy extension to a day here.

Mojacar Pueblo remains the cultural landmark inland. From sections of the shore, its white buildings can be seen on the hill, linking the modern coastal development with the older settlement above. Local menus commonly feature grilled fish, squid, rice and the red prawns landed at Garrucha.

The Landscape

The shoreline runs in a broad, gently curving line with medium to dark grey sand and occasional coarser material. Low-rise development, palms and the golf landscape sit behind it, while the northern view leads towards Garrucha's harbour.

Inland, the terrain rises towards Mojacar and the Sierra Cabrera foothills. Golf greens, pale buildings, dry mountains and open water give Marina de la Torre a distinctive character. It is clearly a developed beach, yet the scale of the coast and the visibility of the surrounding hills prevent it from feeling closed in.
