About Playa Ventanicas
Ventanicas feels spacious even when summer numbers rise. The broad sand gives room for sunbathing, play and movement, while beach bars and nearby businesses add activity without occupying the entire shore. It is more polished and fully serviced than the rugged beaches beyond Macenas, yet the generous frontage prevents it from feeling like a small, crowded resort cove.
Municipal information lists seasonal lifeguards, accessible bathing equipment, toilets, showers, parking, a bus stop, children's areas and a nautical channel. These facilities make the beach practical for mixed-age groups and visitors with reduced mobility. The atmosphere is relaxed in the morning, busiest through the afternoon and sociable again around sunset.

The Setting
Playa de las Ventanicas is a wide, fine-sand beach on the southern urban stretch of Mojacar Playa, backed by a developed seafront with easy road and bus access. Its size, extensive services and accessible facilities make it one of the municipality's most complete choices for families and visitors planning a full day beside the water.
Ventanicas belongs to the established holiday coastline of Mojacar, but it remains connected to the wider municipality through the white hill village inland. Mojacar Pueblo provides the historical centre, while the beach strip supplies the restaurants, accommodation and day-to-day services used by most coastal visitors.
Beach bars and nearby restaurants make local seafood easy to find. Grilled fish, squid, rice dishes and shellfish reflect the fishing coast around Garrucha and Carboneras, while simple tapas and cold drinks suit the informal pace of a long beach day.
The beach is approximately 600 metres long and around 60 metres wide, with fine grey sand. The developed seafront runs behind it, but the dry Sierra Cabrera slopes remain visible inland and add a rugged backdrop beyond the buildings.
The waterline is long and open, with no major headland enclosing the view. To the south, the coast gradually approaches Venta del Bancal and the transition towards less developed terrain. Ventanicas therefore combines an urban beach layout with the scale and arid surroundings typical of eastern Almeria: a wide grey shore, bright Mediterranean light and ochre hills beyond the resort frontage.
