About Playa Venta del Bancal
Venta del Bancal is relaxed, spacious and well suited to families. The beach is broad enough to absorb summer activity, and its position at the edge of the main resort strip gives it a slightly less compressed atmosphere than central Mojacar Playa. Visitors can settle close to services or walk farther along the sand for a quieter patch.
The developed frontage provides restaurants, accommodation, bus connections and seasonal beach support. This convenience makes it easy to spend the full day here without extensive planning. Conditions remain open to wind and waves, however, so the sea can look very different from one day to the next despite the organised setting ashore.

The Setting
Playa Venta del Bancal lies near the southern end of Mojacar's developed seafront, where the long urban beach strip begins to approach the rougher coast towards Macenas. It offers fine grey sand, substantial visitor facilities and easy access while retaining a stronger sense of open landscape than the busiest central sections.
The name Venta del Bancal refers to the area's older roadside identity, with venta traditionally used for an inn or stopping place. Modern buildings have changed the immediate surroundings, but the name still links the beach to the routes that once followed this exposed coast.
Mojacar Pueblo remains the municipality's cultural anchor inland, while the coastal restaurants connect the beach to Almeria's fishing tradition. Fresh fish, squid, rice dishes and Garrucha red prawns are typical regional choices, best enjoyed after the strongest afternoon heat has eased.
Venta del Bancal has fine grey sand and a wide, open frontage backed by the southern end of Mojacar's urban development. Low buildings and the coastal road remain close, but the inland view becomes increasingly dominated by the dry foothills of Sierra Cabrera.
Southward, the coastline begins its transition towards Macenas, where coarse shores, cliffs and the historic tower replace the continuous resort strip. That position gives Venta del Bancal its visual interest. It is still a serviced urban beach, yet it stands close to the point where Mojacar's built seafront yields to a more rugged and sparsely developed landscape.
