About Playa de Beniesma
Beniesma suits visitors who prefer exploration to a single uniform bathing beach. Some sections feel secluded and natural, while others sit closer to houses, restaurants and established access points. Naturism is associated with the quieter northern part, and considerate shared use is expected throughout the shoreline.
The rocky and gravelly terrain requires care. Conditions suitable for swimming or snorkelling in one cove may not apply around the next headland, and wave action can make entry difficult. Visitors should use recognised accesses, avoid jumping from rocks and carry footwear, water and sun protection when walking between sections.

The Setting
Playa de Beniesma is Moncofa's most varied shoreline, stretching south of the Belcaire River through naturist areas, rocky coves, gravel sections and semi-urban sand. A coastal path links these changing landscapes with the remains of a sixteenth-century watchtower and quieter stretches of Mediterranean shore.
The remains of the Torre de Beniesma provide the strongest historical landmark. Built in the sixteenth century, the watchtower formed part of the coastal defence system used to warn communities of attacks from the sea and protect commercial activity along this shore.
A footbridge over the Belcaire River connects Beniesma with Moncofa's main seafront. The route creates a natural extension of a beach walk, but the atmosphere changes quickly once the river is crossed and the urban frontage begins to fragment into rock, vegetation and small coves.
Beniesma extends for around twelve hundred metres and contains more shoreline types than any other Moncofa beach. Low rocky points alternate with gravel, coarse sand and small protected pockets. Mediterranean scrub and undeveloped ground remain visible behind the more natural sections.
The landscape is best understood as a sequence rather than a single scene. Tower ruins, river crossing, naturist shore, rocky inlets and semi-urban beach appear one after another along the coastal path. That variety gives Beniesma a strong sense of discovery, provided visitors respect private property, protected vegetation and the changing limits imposed by sea conditions.
