Playa d'Albercuix (port de Pollenca)

Albercuix feels residential, traditional and quietly sociable. Regular visitors read beneath the pines, children explore the gentle edge, and walkers pass between the water and the seafront houses. The usable sand is divided into small sections, so the beach never develops the scale or organised rhythm of the broad strand south of the port.

Water close to shore is often placid, but the little jetties create hard edges and slippery steps. Bathers should enter from clear sandy gaps rather than climbing across algae-covered stone, and paddleboards or small boats may appear beyond the immediate shallows. Space beneath the trees is prized, particularly during the hottest part of the afternoon.

Platja d'Albercuix is the sequence of narrow sandy pockets beside Port de Pollenca's Pine Walk, north of the main harbour beach. It offers shallow bay water, old villas and small stone jetties within one of Mallorca's most recognisable waterfront promenades.

The Pine Walk, locally known as the Passeig Vora Mar, is the defining feature. Mature pines lean over a pedestrian route lined with long-established hotels, private homes and occasional sculptures, preserving a graceful seafront atmosphere that differs from the busier marina area.

Port de Pollenca grew from a fishing settlement into a holiday town while keeping the Tramuntana mountains and Pollenca Bay central to its identity. The harbour, restaurants and buses are within walking distance, allowing Albercuix to function as part of town life rather than a separate excursion beach.

Instead of one continuous beach, pale sand appears in slim crescents between jetties, tree roots and sea walls. The bay opens eastward towards the Formentor peninsula, while the Boquer valley and steep northern hills rise behind the urban edge.

The strongest impression is intimacy. Boats seem close, pine shadows move across the sand, and the water reaches almost to the promenade in places. Albercuix rewards slow movement along the shoreline, choosing a small patch that suits the tide, shade and number of people rather than expecting the facilities of a conventional resort beach.
