About Playa Sant Joan
The mood is relaxed and intimate. Residents, returning summer visitors and families gather on the soft sand, while the lack of a large commercial promenade keeps the pace slower than at Port d'Alcudia. Because the cove is small, early or late visits often provide a more comfortable experience during peak season.
The bay can alternate between smooth water and wind-driven chop. Swimmers should respond to flags and the visible sea state rather than relying on the cove's sheltered appearance. Rocky edges become slippery when wet, and space around access points should be left clear for other beach users.

The Setting
Sant Joan is a compact white-sand beach beside Sant Pere in Alcudia's Mal Pas district, facing north-west across Pollenca Bay. Low rock, scattered coastal plants and a quiet residential setting make it one of the municipality's most appealing small family coves.
Sant Joan and Sant Pere are often discussed together because they sit close to one another on the southern shore of Pollenca Bay. They are nevertheless distinct bathing areas, separated by a short rocky section and reached from different parts of the Mal Pas and Bonaire neighbourhood.
The wider area is anchored by Alcudia's historic centre, the Roman remains of Pollentia and the road into the Victoria peninsula. The Ermita de la Victoria occupies higher ground farther east, providing walking routes and broad views above this quieter side of the municipality.
Pale sand lies between low ochre rock and pockets of native vegetation. The backdrop is residential but not densely built, and the beach opens towards the mountains and the Formentor peninsula across the bay.
Sant Joan's strongest quality is proportion. The cove is small enough to feel sheltered, while the view beyond it is broad enough to feel dramatic. It is not a remote wilderness or a full-service resort beach; instead, it offers a balanced northern Mallorca setting where soft sand, rocky edges and a grand bay panorama meet close to everyday Alcudia life.
