About Playa Cala del Moral
La Cala del Moral is lively, residential and used throughout the year. Families, swimmers and walkers share the shore, while cyclists follow the coastal route towards Rincon de la Victoria and Los Rubios. Summer brings steady activity, but the long frontage allows quieter positions away from the main entrances.
The beach is broad and generally urban in character, with dark sand and moderate Mediterranean wave action. Seasonal rescue services, accessible facilities and nearby food businesses support a conventional beach day. The Arroyo Totalan area marks a busier transition towards Malaga.

The Setting
Playa Cala del Moral forms the western urban shoreline of Rincon de la Victoria, beginning near the Arroyo Totalan and continuing towards the cliffs of El Cantal. Its dark sand, long promenade and close neighbourhood services make it a practical family beach with excellent coastal walking nearby.
The El Cantal cliffs form the strongest natural and historical reference at the eastern end. Former railway tunnels opened in the early twentieth century now carry a popular walking and cycling route through the rock, with broad sea views along the way.
The Cueva del Tesoro lies inland from El Cantal and adds an unusual geological and archaeological attraction. Restaurants and chiringuitos serve fried fish, sardine espetos and seafood along the seafront.
Dark sand extends below a promenade, palms, apartments and neighbourhood streets. The western end is flatter near the Totalan mouth, while cliffs and rocky platforms become increasingly prominent towards El Cantal.
Eastward, the tunnel route leads into Rincon de la Victoria. Westward, the beach approaches Malaga's La Arana district. The Mediterranean horizon remains open, but the cliffs provide a dramatic boundary at one end. Cala del Moral is defined by contrast: a fully serviced urban beach beside one of the coast's most distinctive cliff-and-tunnel walks. The promenade is roughly level and continues through public spaces, play areas and restaurant zones, making the beach practical for visitors with pushchairs or limited mobility. The Totalan mouth also marks the municipal boundary with Malaga.
