About Playa los Rubios
Los Rubios feels relaxed, local and less crowded than La Cala del Moral or central Rincon. Families, walkers, anglers and cyclists use the shore, while visitors from nearby homes and campsites spread along a frontage of roughly one kilometre.
The beach has dark sand and moderate wave exposure. Seasonal services, showers and nearby chiringuitos support bathing, but the atmosphere remains simple. The long shape suits walking and exercise, especially outside the busiest summer weekends.

The Setting
Playa Los Rubios lies at the eastern end of Rincon de la Victoria municipality beyond Torre de Benagalbon. Its long dark shore, moderate development and ecological promenade create a quieter semi-urban beach with more open space than the central waterfront.
The Paseo Ecologico at Los Rubios is the clearest local feature. It provides a landscaped route beside the beach and connects the quieter eastern coast with the municipality's continuous walking and cycling network.
Torre de Benagalbon lies west and preserves an important watchtower associated with the historic coastal defence system. Inland archaeological remains, including Roman-period sites around the district, add depth to an area now largely residential.
Dark sand forms a long, relatively narrow shoreline below low housing, open plots, vegetation and sections of promenade. The coast is flatter and less enclosed than the El Cantal area farther west.
Eastward, the municipality approaches the boundary with Velez-Malaga. Westward, Torre de Benagalbon and Rincon de la Victoria continue along the same coast. Hills rise inland across the Axarquia, while the Mediterranean remains open to the south. Los Rubios is defined by length and breathing room: a semi-urban beach where ecological walking routes and lower-density development soften the built shoreline. The beach is around 1.1 kilometres long but comparatively narrow, so recent storms can noticeably affect the available upper shore. The ecological route adds planting and interpretation without turning the area into a dense urban promenade. Chiringuitos remain close enough for lunch without changing the quieter character.
