Playa Cala Gracin

The cove feels relaxed and sociable. Families favour the manageable sand and shallow-looking water, while couples and local residents arrive for a quieter few hours away from Sant Antoni's busiest streets. Because the beach is small, it can fill quickly in summer, especially once roadside parking becomes limited. Early arrival is especially useful in summer, but visitors should never block residential roads or emergency access.

The bay often appears protected, but swimmers should still follow flags and check conditions near the rocky edges. Snorkelling can be enjoyable in clear, calm water, while swell makes the same margins less safe. Shade from surrounding pines changes through the day and does not cover the whole beach.

Cala Gracio is a small sandy cove just north of Sant Antoni de Portmany, enclosed by pine-covered slopes and low rocky sides. Its sheltered shape and proximity to town make it a popular family alternative to the larger urban beach.

Cala Gracio lies within walking distance of the Cap Blanc Aquarium, housed in a natural sea cave that was once used as a lobster nursery. The aquarium introduces local marine species and provides a distinctive stop between Sant Antoni and the northern coves.

A short path also connects with smaller Cala Gracioneta, which has even less sand and a more intimate setting. Sant Antoni remains close for shops, transport and restaurants, allowing visitors to enjoy a cove without committing to a remote journey.

Pale sand occupies a rounded inlet between warm-coloured rock and Mediterranean pines. Low houses are present above parts of the cove, so the setting is sheltered rather than untouched.

The bay's small scale is its greatest strength and its practical limitation. Water, rock and vegetation are all close together, creating an attractive frame for swimming and family beach time. Cala Gracio offers a clear change of mood from urban Sant Antoni while remaining close enough to reach on foot or by a short local journey.
