About Playa Playamar
Playamar is active, family-friendly and well suited to visitors who want both relaxation and organised activity. Volleyball, watersports and beach exercise share the shoreline with loungers and family groups, while the promenade supports walking and cycling throughout the day.
Municipal tourism describes Playamar as roughly one kilometre long and around fifty metres wide. The open waterfront is usually comfortable for ordinary bathing, though onshore wind can raise a short, choppy sea. Seasonal rescue services, accessible facilities and nearby transport make the beach easy to use without extensive planning.

The Setting
Playamar lies east of central Torremolinos between Los Alamos and El Bajondillo. Its fine golden sand, long promenade and extensive sports, restaurant and hotel facilities make it one of the resort's most versatile urban beaches.
Avenida Benyamina provides one of the main connections between the town and the beach. Hotels, apartments and restaurants developed around Playamar during Torremolinos's growth as an international resort, giving the district a distinctly modern identity.
Los Alamos lies east with its beach-club scene, while El Bajondillo and the town centre lie west. Chiringuitos serve sardine espetos, fried fish and seafood alongside a broad range of international food.
Fine golden sand forms a broad urban shoreline below a landscaped promenade, palms, hotels and apartment buildings. The coast is relatively straight and open, creating long views towards neighbouring beach sections.
Eastward, Playamar merges gradually with Los Alamos. Westward, El Bajondillo approaches beneath the higher central streets of Torremolinos. The inland terrain rises away from the sea, making the seafront feel separate from the town centre above. Playamar is defined by versatility: a spacious serviced beach where sport, family activity, hotels and long promenade walks coexist. Beach volleyball courts and seasonal activity areas reinforce the sporty character without occupying the entire shore. The promenade remains especially popular at sunset, when runners, families and restaurant visitors share the same long seafront. The beachfront remains active through the quieter winter months. Lifeguard posts and accessible walkways are concentrated near the principal entrances.
