Playa Malapesquera - Santa Ana

Malapesquera-Santa Ana is active from early morning until late evening. Walkers, runners and cyclists use the promenade, families gather near accessible entrances and visitors move between the sand, restaurants and marina. The long frontage provides more room than the compact coves farther west.

The water is often relatively calm, although local wind and wave conditions still vary. Seasonal lifeguards, adapted bathing support, activity areas and equipment hire make the beach suitable for mixed-age groups. The sections around Santa Ana, Las Gaviotas, Malapesquera and Torrebermeja blend into one continuous urban experience.

Playa Malapesquera-Santa Ana forms Benalmadena Costa's broad central urban shoreline immediately west of Puerto Marina. Its dark sand, full range of services and long promenade make it one of the municipality's busiest and most versatile family beaches.

Puerto Marina anchors the eastern end, bringing boats, restaurants and a distinctive leisure-harbour atmosphere. The seafront route continues west towards Bil Bil, allowing visitors to connect the marina with the red Castillo El Bil Bil without leaving the coastal path.

Benalmadena's beach restaurants maintain Malaga's culinary traditions through sardine espetos, fried fish, squid and grilled seafood. The modern urban setting is cosmopolitan, but these dishes preserve a direct connection with the fishing culture that shaped the coast before mass tourism.

Dark sand extends beneath a broad landscaped promenade lined with palms, hotels, apartments and restaurants. Breakwaters and marina structures influence parts of the waterline, while the beach remains wide enough for sport, loungers and open walking space.

Eastward, Puerto Marina creates a dense architectural boundary. Westward, Santa Ana leads towards Bil Bil and Arroyo de la Miel. The Mediterranean horizon stays visible despite the heavily developed backdrop. Malapesquera-Santa Ana is defined by continuity and convenience: a large serviced beach linking harbour, promenade, accommodation and neighbouring cultural landmarks within one uninterrupted waterfront. Broad paved areas behind the beach also support cycling, long evening walks, relaxed coastal cycling and occasional local year-round community events.
