Playa la Yuca - Arroyohondo

La Yuca-Arroyohondo feels more secluded than Bil Bil or Santa Ana, though nearby roads and residential development remain close. Visitors come for swimming, snorkelling and time in a smaller cove rather than for a long promenade day. Space is limited, so summer arrivals are most noticeable around the recognised access.

The rocky seabed and cove shape can create clear-looking water in settled conditions. Footwear is useful around gravel and stone, and access may involve slopes or steps depending on the chosen entry. Facilities are fewer than on Benalmadena's main urban beaches, reinforcing the more natural atmosphere.

Playa La Yuca-Arroyohondo occupies a broken western section of Benalmadena Costa where low cliffs, rocky points and small coves replace the continuous urban beaches farther east. Its mixed dark sand, gravel and rock create a quieter shore with clear water and strong snorkelling appeal.

Benalmadena Pueblo lies inland above this coastline, while the western resort strip follows Avenida del Sol. The municipality's beach names often combine several small coves and local zones, reflecting a shoreline divided by headlands rather than one continuous sand frontage.

Nearby Torrequebrada provides restaurants, hotels and the casino area. Chiringuitos along the wider coast serve Malaga staples such as sardine espetos, fried fish and grilled seafood, although choices immediately beside the smaller cove may be limited.

Dark sand, gravel and rocky platforms occupy a compact inlet below low cliffs and coastal development. Vegetation grows along some slopes, while stone outcrops continue beneath the water and create varied colours around the cove margins.

Eastward, the shoreline leads towards Torrequebrada and the more urban Benalmadena beaches. Westward, additional small coves continue towards Torremuelle and Carvajal. La Yuca-Arroyohondo's character comes from this fragmented geography: short beach, rock, cliff and clear Mediterranean water arranged within a much more intimate space than the main resort frontage. The lack of a long paved promenade helps preserve the cove's quieter, greener and more enclosed visual character.
