About Playa Argazada
The beach feels discreet beside nearby Samil. Walkers often encounter it while following the coastal path, and its limited size makes it better for a quiet pause or short swim than for a large family beach setup. A few groups can quickly fill the usable sand.
Espedrigada has a relaxed, tucked-away atmosphere, but it is not isolated. The path and larger beaches remain close. Tide strongly affects the amount of room, and visitors should expect rock and pebbles as well as sand. Sea conditions can vary, so care is needed even when the cove looks sheltered.

The Setting
A Espedrigada is a small beach in Alcabre, on Vigo's western coastline beside the Blue Trail and close to the northern end of Samil. The sandy area is about 75 to 80 metres long, with cream-coloured sand, darker grains and occasional small pebbles between rocky sections.
Alcabre is the immediate anchor, a coastal parish where small beaches, rocky points and older neighbourhoods sit between central Vigo and the broad Samil waterfront. The Blue Trail provides the most natural way to understand the area, linking short coves and viewpoints rather than treating each beach as a separate destination.
Samil lies close to the south, offering a long promenade and extensive facilities. Farther along the Alcabre coast, the Museo do Mar de Galicia connects the landscape with Vigo's fishing, marine and boatbuilding history. Espedrigada is a quieter stop between them.
The beach is confined by low rock and faces the Ria de Vigo. Its sand is medium in texture rather than uniformly powdery, and patches of small stones may appear depending on tide and recent sea conditions.
At lower water, more of the rocky margin and narrow bathing area become visible. Higher water can reduce the strand sharply, leaving little dry sand. Wet rock around the cove requires caution.
Across the ria, the horizon opens towards the Cies Islands and the southern shore. The view is broad even though the beach itself is small. Espedrigada's character comes from that contrast: an intimate pocket of sand within Vigo's long coastal edge, connected to a public walking route and a much larger estuary landscape.
