About Playa de Fora Forat

The Vibe

The beach feels active without being as closely tied to the port as Forti. Walkers, runners and cyclists use the promenade, while families spread across the shore near the principal access points. Its greater length creates room for both sociable sections and quieter spaces, especially outside peak afternoon hours.

The open exposure means waves can be more noticeable than the urban surroundings suggest. Swimmers should use the flag system and keep outside marked nautical channels. The shoreline material changes along the beach, so a comfortable sandy patch in one area may give way to small stones farther along.

The Setting

About

Playa de Fora del Forat is a broad urban beach on the northern side of central Vinaros, continuing beyond Playa del Forti along the seafront promenade. Its accessible position, open water and mix of sand and small gravel make it a popular everyday beach for residents and summer visitors.

The Local Anchor

Central Vinaros remains immediately accessible, with the municipal market, old streets and restaurants within walking distance. The beach therefore works well for visitors who want to combine the sea with the town rather than drive to one of the northern coves.

The mouth of the Cervol watercourse marks the transition towards the less continuous coast beyond the urban frontage. Like other Mediterranean channels, it can appear dry or modest for long periods but responds differently after heavy rain. Visitors should respect any temporary barriers or water-quality notices around drainage outlets.

The Landscape

Fora del Forat is a long, low shoreline backed by a fully developed promenade rather than cliffs or dunes. Palms, apartment buildings and public spaces form the rear edge, while the broad horizon keeps the setting visually open.

Southward, the view leads back towards central Vinaros and the port. Northward, the coast becomes increasingly fragmented into coves such as Cossis, Saldonar and Barbiguera. This position gives the beach a useful dual identity: fully connected with town life, yet already pointing towards the quieter northern shoreline.
