The Vibe

The atmosphere is relaxed, family-friendly and more understated than its famous neighbour, Playa del Inglés. Las Burras has the advantage of being close to the main resort zone while feeling slightly softer and less intense.

The beach works well for visitors who want services and accommodation nearby but prefer a quieter patch of sand. Families, older couples and walkers use it for easy beach time, promenade movement and calmer days by the sea. It can still be busy in season, but the mood is less nightlife-led.

Las Burras is a good “middle ground” beach: practical, accessible and resort-backed, but not as full-on as Playa del Inglés.

The Local Anchor

The local anchor is the San Agustín–Playa del Inglés coastal strip. Las Burras acts as a transition beach, linking quieter eastern resorts with the larger southern tourist centre.

The official 2026 Blue Flag list names Las Burras under San Bartolomé de Tirajana, marking it as a recognised managed beach.

The Landscape

The beach is sandy, sheltered in feel and backed by resort development, with breakwaters and coastal shape helping create a more comfortable bathing environment than open surf beaches.

The landscape is not wild, but it is pleasant and usable. Palms, promenade sections, low cliffs and Atlantic views give it a clear southern Gran Canaria identity. Las Burras is a resort beach for people who want comfort without the busiest atmosphere.
