The Vibe

The atmosphere is spacious, scenic and internationally known. Maspalomas can be busy, but it feels different from a normal urban resort beach because the dunes create a strong natural presence behind the shore.

The Local Anchor

The local anchor is the Maspalomas Dunes Special Nature Reserve and the lighthouse area at the western end. Together they define the beach’s image: natural dune field on one side, elegant resort promenade on the other.

The official Gran Canaria tourist website highlights the island’s diversity of beaches, from peaceful coves to miles of dunes by the sea, and Maspalomas is the clearest example. The 2026 Blue Flag list includes Maspalomas under San Bartolomé de Tirajana.

The Landscape
