San Agustin

San Agustín is one of Gran Canaria’s calmer southern resort beaches, set east of Playa del Inglés with a gentler rhythm and a more residential holiday feel.

The Vibe

The atmosphere is relaxed, mature and family-friendly. San Agustín has resort services, hotels, restaurants and promenade access, but it does not carry the same nightlife energy as Playa del Inglés. It feels softer, especially for visitors who want a quieter base while staying close to the south’s main facilities.

The beach suits families, older couples and anyone who prefers morning walks, easy meals and a calmer seafront. It can still be busy in season, but the overall tone is comfortable rather than intense.

San Agustín is a good Blue Flag choice for people who want convenience without the full resort buzz.

The Local Anchor

The local anchor is the eastern end of the Maspalomas resort coast. San Agustín connects with Las Burras and Playa del Inglés, but keeps its own calmer identity.

The official 2026 Blue Flag list includes San Agustín under San Bartolomé de Tirajana, reinforcing its role as a managed resort beach.

The Landscape

The beach has darker golden sand, a curved shoreline and a developed backdrop of hotels and apartments. Rocky edges and the Atlantic give it more volcanic character than the paler beaches further west.

The landscape is practical and settled. It is not remote, but it is pleasant, walkable and well placed for a quieter beach holiday. San Agustín has a softer mood than Playa del Inglés or Meloneras: a beach for quieter holidays.
