Meloneras

Meloneras lies west of the Maspalomas lighthouse, offering an upmarket resort beach setting with promenade restaurants, hotels and a more polished south-coast atmosphere.

The Vibe

The atmosphere is elegant, relaxed and resort-focused. Meloneras is lively, but in a calmer and more refined way than Playa del Inglés. The beach is closely tied to a smart seafront of hotels, shops, restaurants and evening promenades.

It suits couples, families and visitors who want comfort without being in the busiest nightlife zone. By day, it is a practical beach for sunbathing and swimming when conditions allow. By evening, the promenade becomes the centre of the experience, with dinner, ocean views and sunset walks.

Meloneras is best tagged lively, family, accessible and Blue Flag.

The Local Anchor

The local anchor is the Maspalomas lighthouse and Meloneras promenade. This area forms the more upmarket western edge of the southern resort zone, connecting beach life with restaurants and hotel terraces.

The official 2026 Blue Flag list names Meloneras under San Bartolomé de Tirajana, alongside Maspalomas, Playa del Inglés, Las Burras and San Agustín.

The Landscape

The beach is smaller and more contained than Maspalomas, with sand and darker volcanic edges close to a developed resort frontage. The Atlantic is open, but the seafront feels carefully shaped for holiday use.

Meloneras’ beauty is not wildness. It is order, comfort and light: a managed beach beside one of Gran Canaria’s most polished promenades. It works as a practical beach with strong dining and walking appeal, especially later in the day when the western light improves.
