About Pollenca Llenaire

The Vibe

The mood is calm, family orientated and less nightlife-driven than the centre of many larger resorts. Walking, cycling and sitting beside the bay are central to the experience, and the promenade allows visitors to move easily toward Port de Pollenca. Summer is active but the long waterfront distributes people over a broad area. In spring and autumn, the beach becomes especially attractive for cyclists and walkers using the bay as a base for exploring Pollenca, Formentor and the Tramuntana foothills.

Today's Beach Report

Today is Friday, August 28. The day will be very cloudy. This morning, a moderate breeze will make it feel cooler than the actual temperature, which will reach a maximum of 32 degrees Celsius. By lunchtime, winds will ease to become light, making outdoor activities more comfortable. As the afternoon develops, skies remain very cloudy. Heading into this evening, details about the sky and wind are unavailable.

The beach offers calm, gentle surf with very small ripples around half a meter high. Water temperatures are warm at 28.8 degrees Celsius, ideal for swimwear. Conditions are excellent for swimming, paddleboarding, and surfing. Anyone taking a boat out should expect slightly rougher offshore waters but beachgoers can enjoy safe, sheltered conditions. Tennis players and those playing other outdoor games may find some shade useful under the cloudy skies.

Runners and cyclists this morning will face a moderate breeze, which may require extra effort. The high UV index of 7 means strong sun protection is essential, even under the cloud cover. Reapply SPF 50+ every 90 minutes. In the afternoon, lighter winds will make conditions more pleasant for outdoor fitness activities.

Tomorrow will be similar to today with overcast skies and slightly cooler temperatures. Winds will pick up slightly from the northeast, with occasional gusts. The following day will see temperatures rise again under overcast skies, with winds remaining from the northeast.

The Setting

About

Llenaire, also known as Els Tamarells, forms the quieter southern section of the beach at Port de Pollenca in northern Mallorca. A long promenade follows the Bay of Pollenca, with sandy stretches, old pine trees and views toward the Formentor peninsula and the Serra de Tramuntana. The setting combines a residential waterfront with easy access to the port, cycling routes and the wider landscapes of northern Mallorca. Llenaire is therefore better understood as part of the bay than as a separate resort.

The Local Anchor

Port de Pollenca is the immediate anchor, with its marina, long seafront and history as a fishing port. Inland, the old town of Pollenca adds a different layer through stone streets, churches and a strong local identity separate from the resort. Artists and writers have long been drawn to the bay, including painter Hermen Anglada-Camarasa and writer Agatha Christie. This cultural association fits the quiet horizontal character of Llenaire, where the view and changing light are often more important than formal attractions.

The Landscape

The beach follows the curve of a wide, mountain-framed bay, with narrow sandy sections, shallow-looking margins and mature trees providing shade along parts of the promenade. Formentor closes the view to the northeast, while the Tramuntana rises beyond the opposite side of the bay. The immediate shore is low and open, creating a strong contrast with the mountains behind. Wind across the bay can alter the water surface quickly, but the defining image remains one of long views, calm lines and a waterfront closely integrated with everyday movement.
