Playa de l' Almadrava

The atmosphere is residential, notably quiet, spacious and understated. Visitors come for walking, fishing from the shore and swimming when conditions are calm, while the firmer surface discourages the dense rows of towels found on softer resort sand. The open views and steady sound of water moving over rounded stones give the beach a distinct, recognisable rhythm.

Beach shoes are useful because the size and distribution of pebbles vary along the waterline. The seabed can feel uneven, and waves may move loose material, so entry should be cautious. Services and accessible approaches are concentrated at particular points rather than spread continuously along the entire shore.

L'Almadrava is a long mixed-surface beach on Denia's northern coast, positioned between Els Molins and Les Deveses. Rounded pebbles dominate much of the shoreline, with sand appearing more strongly towards the northern end, creating a quieter alternative to the municipality's broad sandy beaches.

L'Almadrava forms part of Denia's Les Marines coastal district, around seven to eight kilometres from the town centre. Its long pebble-dominated shore sits close to Els Poblets and El Verger while remaining firmly within Denia's northern coastline.

Denia's fishing port, castle and gastronomy provide the broader municipal connection, but the immediate setting is a chain of residential lanes and low coastal development. The neighbouring Girona river area and the towns of Els Poblets and El Verger lie nearby inland, explaining why the wider district can sometimes cause naming confusion.

The shore follows a low, open coastal line with no protective cliffs. Pebbles, gravel and patches of sand create changing colours and textures, while the Serra de Segaria rises inland and the Montgo appears farther south on clear days.

Water moving across the stones produces a sharper shoreline sound than on Les Bovetes or Les Marines. The beach's appeal lies in this firmer, quieter, less polished landscape: a long Mediterranean edge where residential access, open sea and mountain views meet without a continuous urban promenade.
