About Playa sa Roqueta
The atmosphere is peaceful and informal. Visitors tend to arrive from nearby accommodation, by bicycle or while exploring the coast on foot, giving the beach a more local and unhurried rhythm. It suits swimming, reading and a short beach stop rather than a day built around extensive facilities.
Conditions depend strongly on the eastern wind. Calm weather can produce clear, inviting water, while an onshore breeze quickly brings small waves and drifting seagrass. Swimmers should check the sea before entering and use footwear around rocky sections. Services are limited, so water and sun protection should be carried.

The Setting
Platja de ses Canyes is a quieter stretch of Formentera's eastern coast between the broad Llevant shore and the busier beach area around Es Pujols and sa Roqueta. Sand, low rock and dune vegetation create a modest natural beach without the scale or fame of Ses Illetes.
Ses Canyes sits near the transition between the protected Es Trucadors landscape and the more developed surroundings of Es Pujols. The village provides restaurants, shops and transport, but these are not directly concentrated on every part of the beach.
The coast can be followed along paths and quieter roads, linking Ses Canyes with Llevant to the north and sa Roqueta or Es Pujols to the south. This makes it a useful stopping point on a walking or cycling day, provided visitors stay on recognised routes through the dunes.
The shoreline is narrower and more varied than Llevant. Pale sand alternates with flat rock and small pockets of vegetation, while low dunes soften the inland edge. There are no high cliffs or dramatic landmarks.
The beach's character comes from its position between two better-known areas. It offers open eastern views and the natural textures of Formentera without the long walk to the end of Es Trucadors. Ses Canyes is easy to overlook, but that understated quality is precisely what makes it appealing to visitors seeking a quieter section of island coast.
