Playa s'Illot de Sant Lloren

The beach has an easy, local scale throughout much of the year. Families stay close to the central sand, residents use the promenade throughout the year, and visitors cross between simple restaurants and the water without the long hotel frontage of Cala Millor. Summer activity is noticeable, yet the bay retains the feel of a small seaside neighbourhood.

The torrent outlet and rocky ends make conditions less uniform than the calm appearance suggests. After heavy rain, discoloured runoff can reach the bay and the area beside the channel deserves extra distance. Stone under the water becomes more prominent towards the margins, while the clearest sandy entry lies nearer the main bathing section.

S'Illot on the Sant Llorenc side is the compact resort beach commonly associated with Cala Moreia, beside the municipal boundary with Manacor. Sand, a low promenade and the sheltered-looking bay create a smaller and more traditional alternative to neighbouring Sa Coma.

S'Illot is divided between Sant Llorenc des Cardassar and Manacor, and the official beach records reflect that municipal split. The name therefore covers a connected settlement whose administrative boundary is almost invisible to someone walking the seafront.

A short distance inland stands the Talayotic settlement of s'Illot, built around substantial stone structures and defensive walls. Its archaeological remains give the resort an unusually direct connection with prehistoric Mallorca and can be visited without leaving the coastal district.

The beach occupies a modest curve between low rocky points, with hotels, apartments and the promenade immediately behind it. Small boats and mooring activity add movement beyond the sand, while the sea view remains more enclosed than at Sa Coma.

To the north, the developed shoreline continues towards the broader neighbouring resort; southward, rockier coast begins to interrupt the sand. S'Illot's appeal lies in this compact transition zone, where a manageable beach, an old settlement name and a major archaeological site exist within walking distance of one another. This compact arrangement rewards exploration on foot.
