About Playa a Borna
The beach has an understated, local atmosphere. Visitors come for space, views across the ria and a less polished setting than O Con or A Xunqueira. Small boats and nearby maritime activity form part of the scene, and the coarse sand gives the shore a firmer, more rugged texture.
A Borna can feel peaceful outside the main summer weekends. It suits people who are comfortable with a mixed beach of sand and rock and who value the wider estuary landscape over resort-style facilities. The tide and the uneven edges deserve attention, especially when choosing where to settle.

The Setting
A Borna is a 250-metre beach on the eastern side of Moana, below the parish of Meira and close to Domaio. It differs from the municipality's finer urban beaches: the sand is coarse, rock is prominent and the setting feels more closely tied to a working shoreline.
Meira and Domaio provide the local context. This part of Moana has long associations with fishing, shellfish gathering, boatbuilding and industry around the ria. Porto de Meira and the smaller waterfronts show how closely the communities remain connected to the water.
The Rande Bridge lies farther east and is an important landmark in the wider landscape. Central Moana is west along the coast, with its ferry port, market and more developed beaches.
A Borna lies between Punta Arroas and Punta da Moa. It is classed as an open beach and has coarse sand, with rock shelves and a steeply rising shoreline shaping the bay.
The water faces south into the Ria de Vigo. Although the estuary protects the beach from direct Atlantic swell, local winds can create chop and boat movements are common. At low tide, more of the stony margins and intertidal ground appear; higher water reduces the dry strip and brings the sea closer to the back of the beach.
The surrounding scenery is a mixture of green slopes, houses, maritime structures and broad water. It is not an untouched cove, and that is part of its identity. A Borna presents the ria as a lived and worked landscape, where a usable beach exists alongside the everyday infrastructure of the coast.
