About Playa del Morro del Vedell
The cove is used mainly for short swims, sunbathing and quiet time near the port rather than for a full resort-style day. Local residents, anglers and walkers share the area, while masts and harbour activity remain visible throughout the visit.
The shore is limited and may feel crowded quickly. Rock, coarse sand and pebbles make footwear useful, and swimmers need to remain aware of boats and marked harbour approaches. Water conditions are often more protected than on open beaches, but wind and vessel movement can still create chop.

The Setting
Morro del Vedell is a compact rocky-sand cove beside the eastern side of Palamos harbour. It sits below the old coastal quarter and close to the marina, offering a small bathing place within a strongly maritime urban setting.
Palamos harbour is the immediate anchor. It remains one of the Costa Brava's important fishing ports, with the fish market, fishing museum and working fleet providing a clear connection between the beach and the town's economy.
The old quarter rises nearby around narrow streets and viewpoints. Following the coast north leads towards Cala Margarida and La Fosca, while the town's larger Platja Gran lies on the opposite side of the harbour.
Morro del Vedell occupies a small indentation between built harbour structures and rocky coast. The cove does not pretend to be remote: boats, walls and the urban waterfront form part of the view, balanced by open water beyond the port entrance.
The rocky margins continue underwater and provide interest for snorkelling when visibility and sea conditions are good. The limited beach area changes with water level and wave action, and there is little room to retreat from spray during rougher weather.
Its character comes from proximity rather than isolation. The beach places visitors beside fishing boats, marina activity and the older shoreline of Palamos, while still offering direct contact with the Mediterranean. It works best as part of a harbour walk or a coastal route towards the smaller coves north of town.
