About Playa de Sant Antoni
The atmosphere is sociable and practical. Families, swimmers, walkers and cyclists use the seafront throughout summer, while the promenade remains active in cooler months. Restaurants, apartments and seasonal services sit close behind the beach, allowing a full day without complicated planning.
The bay often looks calm, but wind and moderate waves can still develop. Visitors should follow flags, remain within marked bathing areas and take extra care near channels used by watercraft. The broad shore is well suited to walking, especially early or late in the day.

The Setting
Platja de Sant Antoni is the main urban beach of Sant Antoni de Calonge, extending along the broad bay between Palamos and Torre Valentina. Fine golden sand, a continuous promenade and a gentle resort rhythm make it one of the easiest family beaches on this part of the Costa Brava.
Sant Antoni's promenade is the immediate anchor, connecting the beach eastward with Es Monestri and Palamos and westward with Torre Valentina. This continuous waterfront route makes it easy to explore the bay without moving the car.
Inland lies Calonge, a historic town centred on its medieval castle and older streets. The municipality therefore combines two identities: a coastal holiday centre and an established inland community among the low hills of the Baix Emporda.
The beach forms a long, gently curving sandy frontage with few natural interruptions. Low breakwaters and coastal structures influence local sections, while the bay opens towards the Palamos headland in one direction and Torre Valentina in the other.
The landscape becomes more varied at the western end, where the coastal path begins to climb around rocky coves. Along the central beach, however, the defining view is horizontal: promenade, wide sand and a broad Mediterranean horizon.
Sant Antoni is best for visitors who value space, services and easy walking. It does not offer the seclusion of a small cove, but it provides a comfortable base from which the rocky Costa Brava shoreline and the fishing town of Palamos are both close at hand.
