Playa de Torre Valentina

The beach is popular with families and regular summer visitors. Its urban setting provides straightforward access, while the western end feels more scenic as the promenade gives way to rock, pine and coastal paths. The atmosphere is active during the day and gentler in the evening.

Water conditions are usually manageable but not guaranteed calm. Moderate waves and wind are possible, and the seabed can vary near rocky margins. Bathers should respect flags and keep clear of marked boat or paddle channels.

Torre Valentina is the western section of the Sant Antoni de Calonge seafront, named after the historic watchtower that rises above the end of the beach. Fine golden sand, accessible facilities and immediate entry to the Cami de Ronda give it a distinctive balance of resort convenience and rocky-coast scenery.

The cylindrical Torre Valentina is the defining landmark. Built as part of the coast's historic defence network, it watches over the transition between the long sandy bay and the coves leading towards Platja d'Aro.

The Cami de Ronda begins beside the tower and passes Racons, Roques Planes and a sequence of small rocky inlets before reaching Cala Cristus and Ses Torretes. This route transforms a simple beach day into one of the area's best coastal walks.

Torre Valentina beach is about 500 metres long and is separated from the central Sant Antoni shore by the Calonge stream. Fine sand occupies the bay, while the western edge narrows beneath low cliffs and vegetation.

From the beach, the view east extends along Sant Antoni towards Palamos. Westward, the coastline becomes broken and textured, with flat rock platforms, pine-covered slopes and clear-water coves. The contrast is strongest from the path above the tower.

The beach suits visitors who want comfortable sand without giving up immediate access to a more rugged landscape. It is both the final section of a broad urban bay and the starting point for the intimate coves that give the Costa Brava its name.
