Playa Cala Cristus-ses Torretes

These coves combine family facilities with a recognisable Costa Brava landscape. Summer brings swimmers, snorkellers and visitors walking the coastal path, and both sections can become busy because access is relatively easy. The sand provides more comfort than many small rocky inlets nearby, and the two linked sections give visitors a little choice over where to settle.

Water is often attractive and clear-looking, but moderate waves are possible and the seabed changes near the rocks. Snorkellers should remain aware of boat movement and avoid entering exposed corners when the sea is unsettled. Families should follow flags and use supervised areas where available.

Cala Cristus and Ses Torretes form an adjoining pair of sandy coves between Sant Antoni de Calonge and Platja d'Aro. Golden sand, rocky edges and direct access to the Cami de Ronda create a more contained setting than the long urban beach around the bay.

The Cami de Ronda is the strongest anchor. It links the coves with Cala del Forn, Roques Planes and Torre Valentina to the north, while continuing south towards the beaches and marina of Platja d'Aro.

Calonge's inland castle and the broad Sant Antoni promenade provide contrasting nearby experiences. Visitors can spend the morning on a rocky coastal walk, pause at the coves and finish the day among restaurants around the larger bay.

Ses Torretes is roughly 200 metres long, and the two beaches are divided by rock rather than by a major headland. Pine, coastal scrub and low cliffs frame the sand, while paths and nearby development remain visible above.

The rocky margins create pools and underwater interest in calm conditions. Looking offshore, the horizon is open, but the curved coves provide more visual shelter than Sant Antoni's straight beach.

Cala Cristus-Ses Torretes works well for visitors who want the appearance of a small cove without difficult access or complete isolation. The setting remains semiurban and popular, yet the combination of rock, golden sand and coastal path gives it a clear Costa Brava identity.
