About Playa Puerto
The beach is active without being large. Families use the sand, swimmers stay within the designated bathing area and harbour users move through the adjoining quays throughout the day. Summer brings high occupation because the beach is easy to reach from surrounding homes and the marina concentrates activity in one compact place.
Shelter from harbour structures may reduce some wave exposure, but boating channels and marked boundaries require attention. Swimmers should remain outside navigation areas and follow flags or lifeguard instructions. The setting is better suited to a convenient dip and a few hours by the water than to seeking isolation.

The Setting
Playa del Puerto is the small urban beach beside the marina of Torre de la Horadada, where golden sand meets a working leisure harbour. Boats, low waterfront streets and nearby restaurants make it a practical village beach with a distinctly nautical atmosphere.
The marina and Club Nautico are the immediate anchors. Sailing courses, moorings and small regattas keep the harbour connected to active maritime use rather than serving only as a decorative backdrop.
A short distance away stands the Torre de la Horadada, the late sixteenth-century watchtower from which the settlement takes its name. Together, tower and port explain the area's character: an old defensive lookout beside a modern recreational harbour, surrounded by residential streets and a chain of small beaches.
The shore is framed by harbour walls, moored craft and low urban development. Golden sand forms a compact bathing space, while masts and boat movement add vertical lines and colour to the otherwise horizontal Mediterranean view.
Unlike the open expanses of Higuericas or Mil Palmeras, Playa del Puerto is visually enclosed by its nautical infrastructure. The coastline changes direction around the marina, creating short views towards neighbouring coves rather than one uninterrupted horizon. Its appeal lies in this close mixture of beach and harbour life, where a swim, a waterfront walk and the historic watchtower can all form part of the same visit.
