Playa de Llevant

Llevant attracts local families, walkers, runners and people looking for more room than some of Premia's narrower central stretches. The atmosphere is informal and community-based, becoming livelier during the supervised summer season but remaining useful for promenade walks throughout the year.

The beach faces open water and can be windy. Waves, currents and a sloping seabed mean swimmers should pay attention to flags rather than judging conditions only from the shore. The sand is coarse, and its width may change after winter storms or redistribution along the coast.

Platja de Llevant is the eastern beach of Premia de Mar, extending towards the boundary with Vilassar de Mar. It is one of the town's more open sandy sections, with a broad Mediterranean outlook and direct links to the seafront path and residential neighbourhoods.

Premia de Mar is the main anchor, a compact town with a history shaped by fishing, seaborne trade and textile production. The old centre, market and local museums sit inland from the coastal railway and offer a clear sense of place beyond the beach.

The marina lies farther west and influences the movement of sediment along Premia's shoreline. Eastward, the coast continues towards Vilassar de Mar, making Llevant a natural starting point for a longer seafront walk.

Llevant occupies a straight, exposed section of the Maresme coast. The railway and N-II corridor remain close behind, with pedestrian passages connecting the beach to town. There is little natural dune space, so the shore feels distinctly urban even when the sea view is uninterrupted.

Breakwaters and coastal works affect the shape of the sand, and conditions can differ between sections. At lower, calmer water the beach feels broad and easy to walk; after rough weather the upper strand may be reduced.

The appeal is straightforward: open Mediterranean light, room to move and a local town immediately behind. Llevant suits visitors who appreciate an accessible working coastline rather than a secluded or highly landscaped resort beach.
