Playa los Nardos

Los Nardos suits visitors who value space and a less concentrated resort atmosphere. The beach extends for more than a kilometre, allowing walkers and regular beachgoers to move away from the principal access points. Its mixed surface is firmer and coarser than the village's family beaches, so footwear can be useful.

The waterline changes between sandy entries, gravel and rocky patches. This variety creates interest for exploring and snorkelling when conditions are suitable, but it also means the beach is not uniform from one end to the other. Summer services may be available in selected areas, while quieter sections remain comparatively simple.

Playa de Los Nardos lies west of the central beaches of San Juan de los Terreros on the Pulpi coast. Its long mixed shoreline of sand, gravel and rock gives it a more open and varied character than the compact golden-sand coves around Mar Serena and Calipso.

San Juan de los Terreros provides the nearest established centre for restaurants, shops and accommodation. The castle, offshore islands and village promenade form the area's main visitor landmarks, while Los Nardos offers a more spacious continuation of the coast to the west.

The wider municipality of Pulpi is also known for the Geode of Pulpi at Pilar de Jaravia, an exceptional crystal-lined chamber inside a former mine. Although inland, it adds an important geological dimension to a visit and complements the fossil and rock features visible along the coast.

The protected beach extends for roughly 1.5 kilometres. Sand alternates with gravel, pebbles and rock, producing a textured shoreline rather than one uninterrupted strip of fine material. Low development and open plots appear behind different sections.

Views reach east towards the Terreros headland and west along the Levante Almeriense coast. Inland ridges form a dry backdrop, with sparse vegetation adapted to heat and limited rainfall. Los Nardos is best understood as a transition beach: still connected to the holiday settlement, but broader, rougher and more open than the compact urban bays at its centre.
