Playa Villananitos

Villananitos is lively, accessible and strongly connected with promenade life. Families use the gentle shallows, regular swimmers arrive from nearby streets and walkers move between cafes, the marina and the mud-bath area. Summer numbers are high, but the long frontage provides several distinct access points.

The Mar Menor normally has limited wave action, although wind can create choppy water. Seasonal rescue services, adapted bathing facilities and nearby businesses support a complete day. Visitors should follow current local information about lagoon conditions and remain clear of small craft or marked navigation areas.

Playa Villananitos lies on the Mar Menor waterfront at Lo Pagan, beside the mud-bath and salt-flat landscape of San Pedro del Pinatar. Its fine sand, shallow lagoon water and extensive urban services make it one of the municipality's most popular family beaches.

The Banos de Lodo at Las Charcas are the defining nearby attraction. People traditionally apply mineral-rich mud from the shallow pools before walking along the boardwalk beside the salt flats.

Lo Pagan provides restaurants, accommodation and a long waterfront linked with La Puntica and La Mota. The regional park begins close behind the northern shore, adding flamingos, salt pans and dune habitat to the urban beach setting.

Fine golden-grey sand forms a low curve beneath palms, promenade paving, apartments and small harbour structures. The Mar Menor opens south and east, with La Manga forming a distant line across the water.

Behind the beach, the flat salt-pan landscape and Molino de Quintin area create a distinctive transition from town to wetland. Villananitos is defined by combination: shallow family water, busy promenade, traditional mud baths and protected saline scenery within one compact Lo Pagan waterfront. The long promenade remains active after sunset, when families, walkers and restaurant visitors share the waterfront. Easy access to the salt-flat paths also makes the beach a convenient starting point for a wider Lo Pagan visit. Small boats and sailing activity add constant movement offshore.
