About Playa Punta Prima
This is an easy, sociable beach rather than a hidden cove. The sand sits directly below the coastal settlement, so summer days bring families, residents and visitors moving between the shore, nearby accommodation and the village streets. Its popularity is understandable: access is straightforward, the sand is fine and the water remains shallow for a useful distance from the beach.
The setting still feels distinctly Menorcan because the built edge stays low and the horizon dominates. Illa de l'Aire draws the eye beyond the bathing area, while old fishermen's shelters along the coast recall the practical use of this shore before Punta Prima became a resort. The atmosphere is livelier than at an isolated cala, but it is shaped more by daytime beach life than by nightlife.

The Setting
Punta Prima is a compact white-sand beach at Menorca's south-eastern tip, facing the low outline of Illa de l'Aire across open water. It combines a clearly developed holiday setting with a broad maritime view and one of the island's most recognisable offshore landmarks.
Punta Prima belongs to the municipality of Sant Lluis, whose inland town preserves a different rhythm from the coast. The old route eastward also connects with the Cami de Cavalls, allowing walkers to follow the low shoreline towards Alcaufar and the coves beyond.
Illa de l'Aire is the immediate anchor. The island and its lighthouse mark the seaward entrance to this corner of Menorca, giving the beach a clear sense of direction and distance even when the waterfront is busy.
Official island tourism information records a beach about 120 metres long and 30 metres wide. Fine pale sand lies between low rocky margins, and the gently shelving water suits paddling and relaxed bathing when conditions are settled.
The coast here is flatter and more open than Menorca's steep-sided southern ravines. Sparse scrub, stone, white buildings and the blue channel towards Illa de l'Aire create a clean horizontal landscape, exposed to the south-east yet visually uncluttered.
