About Playa Cala Martina
The beach has an energetic but informal rhythm. Windsurfers, paddlers and small sailing craft use designated areas, while families and hotel guests settle on the sand away from activity channels. The atmosphere is generally easygoing rather than party-led, with restaurants and accommodation spread around the bay. Morning conditions may suit casual paddling better before the regular afternoon breeze strengthens over the open water.
Its exposed orientation means wind is central to the experience. Conditions that suit sailing or windsurfing may be uncomfortable for casual swimming, so flags and local instructions should be checked. Swimmers must remain outside launch lanes and give equipment users room. Rocky patches around the margins also call for footwear and caution.

The Setting
Cala Martina is an open sandy bay beside Punta Arabi and S'Argamassa on Ibiza's east coast. Known for water sports, a broad sea horizon and a relaxed holiday setting, it offers a more active character than the smaller sheltered coves nearby.
Punta Arabi lies immediately north and hosts Ibiza's long-established hippy market on scheduled days. The market draws large numbers for crafts, clothing and music, creating a noticeable change in traffic and atmosphere around Es Canar and Cala Martina.
The coastal area also connects with S'Argamassa, Cala Pada and Es Canar by local roads and walking routes. Santa Eularia lies farther southwest for a marina, town services and a longer promenade. Visitors arriving on market days should expect busier access and parking.
Cala Martina forms a shallow open curve rather than a deeply enclosed cove. Pale sand, low rocky edges and pine-backed development frame a broad eastern view, with water-sport sails often adding colour offshore.
The seabed includes sand, rock and seagrass, producing visible changes in water tone. Morning light reaches the bay strongly, while wind can quickly texture the surface. Cala Martina is best understood as a working recreational shoreline: attractive for ordinary beach use, but especially distinctive when the breeze brings boards and small sails onto the water.
