Playa Castelete

This is a quiet beach for visitors who enjoy modest local places. Roza da Vila normally has a low level of use and feels far removed from a busy resort, even though roads and settlements are not distant. It works best for a short rest, a careful swim when conditions allow or a stop during a wider coastal walk.

The beach is narrow, so the tide matters more here than at larger strands. Low water exposes a much wider shallow margin and can leave a considerable distance to deeper water. Higher tide reduces the dry area and may make the shore feel crowded with only a few groups.

Roza da Vila is a small, narrow beach in Vilanova de Arousa, positioned opposite the low Casteletes islets and within sight of the bridge to A Illa de Arousa. Golden sand and rock form a short shoreline of a little over 100 metres, with calm-looking estuary water and limited space at high tide.

Vilanova de Arousa provides the nearest services and cultural interest. The town's harbour, seafood traditions and Casa-Museo Valle-Inclan give context to a coast shaped by both literature and maritime work.

The bridge to A Illa de Arousa is the clearest landmark from the beach. The nearby Casteletes add smaller rocky forms to the view, making the horizon more detailed than a simple open-water scene.

Roza da Vila is roughly 120 metres long and only a few metres wide in places. Its surface combines golden sand and rock, and the water is generally sheltered by the geography of the ria.

The setting feels isolated in character rather than truly remote. Low vegetation, quiet access and the absence of a formal promenade help preserve a simple atmosphere, while the bridge and distant settlements remain visible.

Mussel rafts and small boats may appear offshore, reinforcing the working identity of the Ria de Arousa. The beach's strongest landscape feature is scale: a slim strip of shore facing a broad tidal basin, with island, bridge and islets arranged across the view.
