// Live Conditions — French Riviera & Corsica
I Spy Sun monitors 9 French coastal locations in real time, covering the full length of the Côte d'Azur from St. Tropez and Fréjus through Cannes, Antibes and Nice, the sovereign microstate of Monaco, and the dramatic island coastlines of Corsica. Live UV index, wave height, wind speed, water temperature and air quality are updated every 10 minutes using the Météo-France AROME high-resolution model — the most accurate forecast available for the French Mediterranean coast.
The French Mediterranean coastline has two very different personalities. The Riviera offers sheltered, warm blue water and a glamorous beach culture — but is subject to the Mistral, a powerful cold northwesterly wind that can arrive suddenly and turn calm conditions rough within hours. Corsica is wilder and more exposed — particularly the Strait of Bonifacio, one of the most challenging sailing passages in the Mediterranean. Marine warnings for all locations are sourced directly from MeteoAlarm and updated every 10 minutes.
The glamorous Mediterranean coastline stretching from the Var coast through the Alpes-Maritimes to Monaco. Warm, calm blue water, beach clubs, superyacht harbours and world-class dining. Watch for Mistral wind events which can dramatically change sea conditions without warning.
Southern Corsica — from the spectacular limestone cliffs of Bonifacio perched above the windswept Strait, to the chic turquoise coves and red granite coastline of Porto-Vecchio. Wild, beautiful and demanding waters for sailors and experienced swimmers.
Northern Corsica — the sweeping bay of Calvi, dominated by a 15th-century Genoese citadel and backed by fragrant pine forests. More exposed than the Riviera, with real Atlantic-influenced swell in winter and outstanding diving along the Revellata peninsula.
