About Playa de l'Altet
The beach attracts walkers, families, nature lovers and visitors looking for more room than on a dense resort frontage. Long stretches of sand allow people to spread out, while the sound and sight of aircraft occasionally provide a reminder of Alicante-Elche airport inland. The overall mood remains open, spacious, peaceful and distinctly non-urban.
The shore faces the open Mediterranean, so wind and wave conditions can change. Flags and seasonal lifeguard advice should guide swimming, and children need supervision even where the entry appears gradual. Visitors should use the formal access routes instead of cutting across dunes, which are vulnerable to repeated foot traffic.

The Setting
El Altet is the northernmost beach in the municipality of Elche, extending between Alicante's Urbanova beach and Arenales del Sol. Nearly two kilometres of fine sand, dunes and a lightly developed backdrop give it a quiet natural character despite the nearby airport and coastal settlements.
The village of El Altet lies inland and provides shops, restaurants and everyday services. The beach belongs to Elche, not Alicante, even though the municipal boundary and Urbanova are close to its northern end.
Arenales del Sol begins to the south, and the wider Elche coast is known for dune systems and protected wetlands. The Clot de Galvany is associated more directly with Arenales and Carabassi, so it should not be presented as if it sits immediately behind every part of El Altet beach.
Fine golden sand runs along a low coast backed by dune ridges and sparse Mediterranean vegetation. Wooden walkways and designated paths protect the most sensitive areas while leading visitors from parking and local access points to the shore.
There are no cliffs or heavy promenade walls to contain the view. The landscape is horizontal, with sand, dunes, open sky and sea dominating the scene. El Altet's value lies in this breathing space: a long northern Elche beach where natural coastal form remains visible between two more developed sections of shoreline.
