About Playa Dels Arenals del Sol
The central section feels practical and sociable, with apartments, restaurants and seasonal services close to the shore. Families value the room for games and long paddling walks, while early mornings suit runners and anyone who wants the beach before the promenade becomes busy. Moving away from the main accesses brings a quieter atmosphere and clearer views of the dune system.
The waterline is open to changing wind and swell, so the flag system should guide swimming even when the sea initially looks gentle. Shade is limited across the broad sand, and distances between entrances can be greater than they appear. Visitors planning to explore the full length should carry water and remember that the return walk remains exposed to the sun.

The Setting
Arenales del Sol is a broad sandy beach on Elche's northern coastal section, backed partly by the resort settlement that shares its name and partly by protected dunes. Almost three kilometres of fine sand give it the scale of an open Mediterranean strand rather than a compact town beach.
Clot de Galvany lies behind the coastal zone between Arenales and Gran Alacant. Its ponds, scrub and birdlife form part of the same ecological corridor as the dunes, explaining why wooden walkways and fenced areas matter along this otherwise accessible resort beach.
Elche itself is inland, known for its historic palm grove and urban heritage rather than a seafront centre. Arenales del Sol therefore functions as one of the municipality's coastal neighbourhoods, with direct local services but a distinct identity from the city. It also sits between El Altet to the north and El Carabassi to the south.
The shoreline combines a long, gently curving waterline with several stages of dune formation, from low mobile ridges to older stabilised areas. Buildings dominate some central views, yet the northern and southern ends recover a more natural balance of sand, vegetation and open sky.
This contrast is Arenales del Sol's defining quality. It can support a convenient family beach day without losing the ecological story of Elche's coast. From the sand, the horizon remains wide, and the dunes soften the transition between the Mediterranean and the developed settlement behind.
