About Playa del Carregador
The atmosphere is lively but not overwhelming. Families, swimmers and walkers share a wide strand that can absorb considerable summer activity, while the promenade stays useful from early exercise through to evening meals. Visitors who want services nearby will find Carregador easier than the smaller coves north of Les Fonts.
The open water can still change with wind and swell, so flags remain the reliable guide for bathing. Marked activity areas, seasonal rentals and children's zones add movement to the beach, while quieter sections can usually be found away from the busiest central accesses.

The Setting
Playa del Carregador is Alcossebre's principal central beach, a broad stretch of fine golden sand directly in front of the town. Its promenade, accessible facilities and close range of restaurants and accommodation make it the most convenient full-service beach on this part of the coast.
Alcossebre itself is the anchor. The beach faces the main coastal centre, placing shops, cafes and everyday services immediately behind the sand rather than in a separate inland town. The marina at Les Fonts lies to the north, while La Romana begins beyond the southern point.
Alcala de Xivert, the municipality's historic centre, stands inland beneath its castle and church tower. Those landmarks are part of the wider identity, but Carregador's immediate character comes from modern Alcossebre and its long relationship with family holidays, fishing and the Mediterranean waterfront.
Fine sand forms one of the widest beaches in the area. At the southern end, a dune zone supports varied coastal plants, including sea lilies, and creates a natural transition towards the next beach. Visitors should use marked paths so that easy access does not damage this fragile strip.
The promenade and low urban frontage define the rear of the beach without closing the horizon. Carregador's landscape combines scale and convenience: a broad sandy foreground, town life within steps and a greener dune edge where the built centre begins to loosen towards La Romana.
