About Playa d'En Ros
D'en Ros feels calmer than the central harbour beaches, although easy access and nearby parking mean it can still become busy on warm days. The shallower entry is appealing to families, but wind, stones and boat activity remain part of the setting.
This is a useful beach for a relaxed swim and a few hours beside the water rather than a full resort programme. The mixed surface makes beach shoes practical, and visitors should check conditions carefully when the tramuntana is blowing. Kayaks and small craft may pass close to shore.

The Setting
Platja d'en Ros is a small beach on the northern side of Cadaques bay, reached by following the waterfront away from the town centre. Sand and stones share the shore, while relatively shallow water and a more residential setting make it popular with families and regular visitors.
The beach has strong associations with the Dali family, who spent summer time in this area before Salvador Dali became permanently linked with nearby Portlligat. A sculpture recalling Federico Garcia Lorca's visits adds another artistic reference to the waterfront.
Cadaques remains close enough to reach on foot. Its church, white houses and harbour appear across the water, giving D'en Ros one of the bay's most attractive return views. Continuing along the coast leads towards quieter residential coves and the harder landscape of Cap de Creus.
The beach is compact, around 80 metres long, with sand in some sections and more stones in others. Low rocky sides frame the shore, while houses and gardens rise behind it. The water often appears clear because of the stony seabed.
The bay protects D'en Ros from direct open-sea exposure, but the surrounding hills channel wind and can change the surface quickly. Morning conditions may differ greatly from the afternoon.
D'en Ros works best as part of a coastal walk from Cadaques. Visitors gain a comfortable bathing place, a broad view of the village and a direct sense of how art, summer houses and maritime life have long overlapped around this remarkable bay.
