Playa de l'Amerador

The atmosphere is calm, practical and unshowy. Visitors come for swimming in suitable conditions, reading beside the water and walking along a beach that feels more open than the neighbouring small coves. Coarse gravel and rounded stones create a firmer surface, while the absence of a dense promenade keeps the mood removed from central El Campello.

The water can appear sheltered, but the beach remains exposed to changing Mediterranean weather. Footwear helps at the waterline, and swimmers should follow flags and local instructions whenever seasonal supervision is operating. There is little dependable natural shade on the shore, so preparation matters more than at an urban beach lined with shops.

L'Amerador is a semi-natural gravel beach on El Campello's northern coast, where the Barranc de l'Amerador reaches the Mediterranean. It offers a quieter setting than the town's main sandy beaches, with a long narrow shore backed by residential slopes and low coastal vegetation.

The barranc is the defining local feature. It descends through the coastal landscape and opens beside the beach, explaining both the shape of the shore and the Amerador name used for this part of El Campello. The surrounding area is residential, with local roads linking the beach to the Coveta Fuma and northern coastal neighbourhoods.

El Campello's harbour, fish market tradition and old maritime centre lie farther south. They remain useful for meals and services, but L'Amerador should not be described as a harbour beach. Its appeal comes from being part of the municipality's quieter sequence of coves and semi-natural shores beyond the Illeta peninsula.

The beach extends along a low, open section of coast with coarse gravel, stone and patches of coastal vegetation. The barranc creates a break in the developed shoreline, while rocky edges and sloping ground provide a natural frame without forming a fully enclosed bay.

Views run directly across the Mediterranean, and the uncluttered waterline makes wind and wave changes easy to observe. The lasting impression is of a long, narrow shore shaped by drainage, gravel and low relief: less polished than Muchavista, but more spacious than the tiny coves immediately to the north.
