About Playa del Carrer de la Mar
The beach has a lively but family-oriented rhythm. Morning walkers and swimmers arrive before the promenade becomes busier, while summer afternoons bring children, beach games and groups moving between the sand and seafront terraces. Its length allows visitors to choose between the most active central accesses and quieter sections farther along.
The seabed generally enters the water gradually, but conditions can change with wind, swell and harbour movement. Flags and lifeguard instructions should guide swimming, especially around marked nautical channels. Shade comes mainly from personal parasols or seasonal services rather than from natural vegetation.

The Setting
Carrer la Mar is El Campello's principal town beach, stretching beside the old maritime quarter and south of the fishing and leisure harbour. Fine golden sand, a long promenade and direct access to restaurants and transport make it the municipality's most complete urban beach.
El Campello's fishing heritage is the defining anchor. The harbour at the northern end combines a working fishing area with the marina, and the nearby fish auction tradition connects the modern beach with the town's long relationship with the sea. The old maritime streets behind Carrer la Mar still give the promenade a local identity beyond holiday apartments.
The Illeta dels Banyets archaeological site lies on the rocky peninsula beyond the harbour, not directly on this beach. Its Iberian, Roman and earlier remains make it an important extension to a seafront visit, while the town centre provides shops, cafes and tram connections within easy walking distance.
Carrer la Mar forms a broad urban arc of fine sand backed by a continuous promenade. The harbour and Illeta close the northern view, while the shore continues south towards the mouth of the Riu Sec and the beginning of Muchavista.
Buildings remain clearly present, but the beach is wide enough for the sea and sky to dominate from the waterline. The combination of sand, fishing harbour, marina masts and everyday town life makes Carrer la Mar unmistakably El Campello's central beach rather than a generic Costa Blanca resort frontage.
