About Playa Arenal d'En Castell
The bay feels organised, comfortable and gently lively throughout summer. Families settle close to the centre, hotel guests descend by paths and steps, and walkers use the promenade sections above the sand. Restaurants and accommodation are nearby, yet the scale of the bay keeps the water and beach visually dominant. The continuous curve also makes it easy to walk before choosing a place to settle.
Its curved outline does not guarantee calm conditions. A northerly sea can enter the opening and spread waves across the entire crescent, changing the character from paddling bay to active surf. Rocky ends are more affected by rebound, while the central sandy entry remains the simplest choice when movement increases.

The Setting
Arenal d'en Castell is a large horseshoe bay on Menorca's north coast, wrapped by resort development but still defined by a remarkably even curve of pale sand. Its sheltered-looking shape, shallow central water and waterfront access have made it a leading family beach on the island.
The resort of Arenal d'en Castell supplies everyday services and transport, but Es Mercadal provides the municipality's historic centre inland. Whitewashed streets, local food businesses and the route towards Monte Toro offer a cultural counterpoint to the coastal hotels.
The neighbouring area of Coves Noves continues the developed shoreline, while coastal paths and roads lead towards Addaia and Son Parc. These nearby landscapes show how quickly the north coast alternates between resort bays, rocky inlets and low rural ground.
Pale sand creates an almost semicircular beach beneath rounded headlands. Buildings step along the slopes, particularly at the western side, but the bay's symmetry remains the strongest feature.
From the centre, the horizon appears framed rather than fully open. Morning and midday light bring out bands of blue in the water, while late sun catches the built slopes behind. Arenal d'en Castell is not secluded Menorca; it is a successful resort bay whose natural geometry still provides a clear sense of place.
