About Playa de Cap Blanc

The Vibe

Cap Blanc is relaxed but rarely feels remote. Walkers and cyclists use the seafront route, families settle near the easiest access points and water-sport activity appears around the harbour side. The beach is long enough for quieter stretches, especially away from the main entrances and restaurants.

Pebbles and gravel replace fine sand, so footwear is helpful and beach mats need more support than a towel alone. The shoreline can deepen unevenly, and afternoon breeze may roughen the water. Swimmers should use flags and marked zones, keeping clear of harbour approaches and any designated craft channels.

The Setting

About

Playa de Cap Blanc is Altea's southernmost main beach, continuing the pebble shoreline towards Raco de l'Albir and the boundary with L'Alfas del Pi. Its long semi-urban frontage, open bay views and nearby harbour services make it a practical beach with a strong local residential character.

The Local Anchor

The Port of Altea and Club Nautico stand near the northern side of the beach, providing masts, sailing activity and a clear link to the town's maritime life. Southward, the shore blends visually into L'Albir, although the municipal boundary separates Altea from L'Alfas del Pi.

Altea's central promenade and old town are farther north but remain accessible along the coast. The blue-domed church above the white historic quarter is visible from parts of the bay, while Serra Gelada rises prominently beyond L'Albir and gives the southern view its dramatic scale.

The Landscape

Cap Blanc is a long, low shoreline of rounded pale stones backed by a mixture of promenade, campsites, restaurants and residential development. There are no enclosing cliffs, and the beach reads as part of a continuous bay rather than an individual cove.

The horizon is broad, with Serra Gelada forming a dark headland to the south and harbour masts punctuating the northern side. Its character comes from continuity and movement: walkers following the water, sailing boats leaving port and waves shifting the pebble edge along one of Altea's widest coastal sections.
