Playa de sa Boadella

The cove is valued for tranquillity, although it is no longer a secret and can become busy on summer days. Couples, families, swimmers and visitors seeking a more natural setting share the sand. The walk from the road filters out some casual traffic, but it is still advisable to arrive early during peak periods.

Sa Boadella has long attracted both clothed and naturist bathers, particularly towards quieter parts of the shore. The atmosphere is generally relaxed and mixed. Visitors should be considerate of others, take their belongings with them and remember that the path and coarse sand may be inconvenient for heavy beach equipment.

Sa Boadella is a 250-metre cove west of Fenals, below the cliffs near the Santa Clotilde Gardens. Reached by a dirt path rather than a seafront road, it combines coarse golden sand, clear-looking water and pine-covered slopes with fewer urban structures than Lloret's larger beaches.

The Santa Clotilde Gardens are the nearest major landmark, occupying the cliffs between Fenals and Sa Boadella. Their terraces, cypress-lined paths and sea views form an elegant contrast with the more natural cove below, although access to the gardens is from inland rather than directly up the cliff.

Lloret de Mar lies east beyond Fenals, while Santa Cristina and Treumal are reached farther west by road and coastal routes. Sa Boadella therefore sits within a sequence of beaches where the resort coastline gives way to smaller, greener bays.

The cove is enclosed by rocky headlands and Mediterranean woodland. Coarse sand fills a generous curve, with stone outcrops creating visual divisions along the shore and adding interest for swimmers when the sea is calm.

Access normally involves following an unpaved path for roughly 200 metres from the road. The return climb is modest but should be considered in heat, and the route may not suit every mobility level.

Sa Boadella is exposed enough for waves and wind to matter despite its enclosed appearance. Its character comes from relative seclusion, not guaranteed calm. The best view is from the approach, where the cove appears below the pines as a quieter counterpoint to the large urban beaches of Lloret and Fenals.
