About Playa o Con

The Vibe

This is one of Moana's most convenient and popular beaches. The setting is lively in summer, with families, regular swimmers and people moving between the shore, nearby streets and port area. Despite its urban position, the beach retains a distinct bay-like character because the rocky points frame both ends.

O Con works well for a straightforward beach day. The sand is easy to reach, services are close and the ria usually appears gentler than the ocean coast. It can become busy during good weather, so visitors seeking more solitude may prefer the smaller coves towards Domaio or the quieter edges of Tiran.

The Setting

About

O Con is a compact urban beach in Tiran, immediately west of central Moana and close to the town's harbour. Fine sand stretches between Punta da Mona and Punta Cortes, giving the beach a clear, contained shape within the Ria de Vigo.

The Local Anchor

Moana's port is the immediate anchor. Fishing activity, small craft and the marina sit beside the beach, while the town centre continues east along the waterfront. The harbour makes O Con feel unmistakably maritime rather than simply urban.

Tiran adds another layer of identity. The parish is associated with rowing and has a long relationship with the ria, reflected in local clubs, boats and coastal life. A walk west leads towards Praia de Tiran, Canabal and the boundary with Cangas.

The Landscape

O Con is about 150 metres long and has fine sand. It is classed as an open beach within the estuary, with an urbanised backdrop and rocky points defining the bay.

The view looks south across the Ria de Vigo towards the city and the surrounding hills. Harbour walls and boats occupy part of the near scene, while the broader water gives the beach a more expansive horizon.

Tide changes the width of the usable sand, though the beach retains a clear central area. Wind can travel along the ria and create surface chop, and boat movements are part of the environment. The combination of sand, port, town and open estuary is the essence of O Con: practical, social and closely tied to Moana's everyday waterfront.
