Playa del Torn

Naturism is central to the beach's identity rather than a minor designated corner. Visitors are expected to approach the setting with respect, discretion and the same consideration shown at any shared public beach. The long strand provides space, but popular summer days can still concentrate people near the principal access points.

The beach faces open Mediterranean water and can develop stronger waves than the town beaches. Pebbles and small stones may appear at the waterline, and the seabed does not always feel as soft as the sand suggests. Flags, local warnings and cautious entry are particularly important in changing conditions.

Platja del Torn is a long natural beach south of L'Hospitalet de l'Infant, internationally known for its established naturist tradition. Golden sand, wooded slopes and the rocky islet of El Torn create one of the most visually distinctive and least urbanised settings on the southern Costa Daurada.

The islet of El Torn stands close to the shore and preserves the remains of a medieval watchtower. It is the beach's unmistakable landmark, linking the peaceful present-day scene with centuries when this coastline required observation and defence.

Above the beach lies the protected natural area of La Rojala-Platja del Torn. A viewpoint on the higher ground gives a wider perspective across the strand, islet and wooded slopes. The naturist campsite integrated into the landscape has also helped establish El Torn's long association with clothing-optional holidays.

The beach stretches for well over a kilometre between reddish rocky ground and pine-covered hills. Development is limited, and the combination of sand, low cliffs and forest creates a strong sense of separation from the nearby transport corridor and towns.

El Torn's shape is open rather than cove-like, with the islet interrupting the horizon near one end. The protected surroundings are part of the experience, so visitors should use established paths and leave vegetation undisturbed. The enduring impression is of a large beach defined by natural preservation, naturist culture and a single rocky landmark.
