About Playa de Cantal Roig
The beach is family-oriented and sociable, with fine sand, a modest waterline and restaurants nearby. It is smaller than La Fossa or Arenal-Bol, so space becomes limited quickly during busy periods. Morning visits often feel calmer before port activity, lunch traffic and beach use overlap. The beach is especially convenient for a shorter stop rather than a long walk along the shore.
Boats and harbour structures form part of the setting, making marked swimming limits important. The water can appear protected by the port and rock, but flags and lifeguard instructions should still determine whether swimming is suitable. Children require normal supervision as the seabed and activity levels can vary.

The Setting
Cantal Roig is a compact sandy beach beside Calp's fishing port, positioned between the Penon de Ifach and the Banos de la Reina coastline. Its sheltered-looking bay and close relationship with the harbour give it a distinctly maritime atmosphere.
Calp's fishing port is the immediate anchor. Fishing vessels, the fish-auction building and seafood restaurants keep the town's working maritime identity visible beside a highly visited beach area.
The Penon de Ifach rises behind the port, while the Roman remains of Banos de la Reina lie along the coast towards Arenal-Bol. These landmarks belong to different periods, but together they show how fishing, settlement and coastal recreation have concentrated around the same sheltered side of Calp.
Cantal Roig is a short curve of golden sand facing a bay broken by jetties, boats and the base of the Penon. The port gives the view more human activity than Cala El Raco, which lies on the opposite side of the harbour wall.
Low promenade sections and nearby buildings frame the landward edge, while the rock supplies the dramatic scale. This is not a beach of uninterrupted natural scenery; its character comes from the close meeting of sand, working harbour and limestone headland. For visitors interested in Calp beyond sunbathing, that combination makes Cantal Roig especially revealing.
