About Playa del Port Blanc

The Vibe

Port Blanc suits visitors who prefer a small inlet and do not need a long promenade. Coarse sand, pebbles and occasional seagrass make the shore less polished than Arenal-Bol, while nearby harbour structures add a sheltered maritime feel. The limited beach area can fill quickly during settled summer weather, especially around the easiest access.

The water may appear calm inside the bay, but swimmers should remain aware of boat channels, harbour boundaries and changing conditions. Beach shoes are useful at the waterline, and snorkelling should be attempted only when visibility and vessel movement make it appropriate.

The Setting

About

Platja del Port Blanc is a small mixed sand-and-pebble beach on the southern side of Calp, beside the harbour area known as Puerto Blanco. Its compact bay and view towards the Sierra de Toix give it a quieter character than the town's two main sandy beaches.

The Local Anchor

The harbour is the immediate reference point, although services and access can change as the facility is renewed or operated differently. Visitors should therefore check current local information rather than relying on older descriptions of particular restaurants or marina businesses.

Calp's old town and Arenal-Bol lie to the northeast, while the slopes of Toix rise to the southwest. The beach can be combined with a coastal drive or walk towards La Manzanera, where Ricardo Bofill's distinctive apartment architecture forms another part of the municipality's modern shoreline history.

The Landscape

The beach is about one hundred metres long and occupies a shallow indentation between low rocky sides and harbour infrastructure. Coarse sand and pebbles create a textured shore, while the water opens towards the broad Calp bay and the Penon de Ifach in the distance.

Port Blanc is semi-urban rather than wild. Villas and roads occupy the slopes, yet the small scale and Toix backdrop prevent it from feeling like an extension of the central resort. Its identity comes from the balance between cove, harbour and headland, offering a compact alternative to Calp's expansive golden-sand beaches.
